Golden Dragon Inferno Slots
Some slot games go after an obvious and oft-trodden path towards their theme. We think we can add Golden Dragon Inferno to that category, but don't let that deter you from checking it out. We have explored every inch of the game here, and we're ready to consider whether this ought to be an unmissable game to play this year.
Who created the slot?
This is another from the every-busy team working at Betsoft.
You can try before you buy if you wish
Yes, the demo version of the game is the same as the real one, so you're able to thoroughly test it first.
Have you thought about the theme yet?
The game features many golden icons, many of which will indeed be familiar to you. We're on our way back to the Orient in this game.
Does this design have the golden touch?
It certainly does, with red and gold detailing around the reels. There are fish, tortoises, and cheerful characters all appearing in gold too, so there is a lot of the stuff about!
How to play the Golden Dragon Inferno slot game
This is a standard 5 x 5 game, although the inclusion of four jackpots sitting atop those reels makes it anything but a standard game.
Expect a flaming wild to appear during the game, which feeds into the inferno part of the title. This replaces a lot of the other icons you might see, but not the flaming circular icons that show the jackpot amounts, which is fair enough. You can land those wilds on every reel except for reel one.
There is also the nudging multiplier wild reel in play, also fiery and displaying a dragon on it. This can only appear on the middle reel. Even if it only appears in one position (or more), it'll always nudge to fill the reel. You also receive a random multiplier worth between 2x and 10x.
You'll soon see there are no paylines in this game
At the bottom of the reels, you'll see a message that says 243 ways to win, so that's your answer to whether there are any lines available to bet on here.
Get ready to make your wager
One bet is fine for each spin, and this can go from a quarter to $20.
Plenty of info tucked away in the paytable
While the game might look fairly standard to start with, you'll realize it packs in way more than you might think. You can confirm this with a quick glance through the paytable, hidden behind the info logo in the control panel underneath the reels.
It's a bonus to see stacked mystery symbols in this game
Betsoft has added these to a few of its recent slots, and they've got them in action here too. Look for a red square with a golden lion door knocker in the middle. This is the mystery icon and whenever it lands on multiple reels and positions, they'll all be substituted with a randomly chosen symbol once the spin completes. Sadly, the wild isn't included in this.
Remember that wild reel? If it shows up and you don't get a prize, it'll stay in position for a respin. This gives you another chance at a prize while the reel is in position.
There is also a Hold and Win bonus which could be the best bit of all. Six or more bonus icons trigger this round, with the blank fiery circle containing cash prizes, and three more containing the words Mini, Minor, or Major. All triggering icons remain where they landed and you get three respins. Your respin count always goes back to three if you get more bonus symbols landing. You can then try for cash prizes or receive one of the three smaller jackpots if you lock those symbols in place. You need to lock a bonus icon in all 15 positions to get the Grand prize.
Free spins aren't part of the deal here
No, you need respins instead with the jackpot round, but there are other features to look for along the way - not least the wild reel.

Our rating for the Golden Dragon Inferno game
We liked this one, even though the theme is one that has happened many times before. There are a few tweaks here that make it a good one to play if you have the budget for it. It also works well in demo mode. It does retread old ground though, and for that reason, we're scoring it at 7.5 out of 10.
How good is the prize potential on a spin in this game?
Betsoft always reveals some cool facts on its loading pages, making the most of the space there while the games load. In this case, we learn that the top prize is 5,000x your bet on a single spin.
Demo play allows you to get a better idea of how it works
We liked this one, and we're glad we tried the practice version first, as it did give us a sense of whether we'd like the real one.
